A made-to-measure kurta set fits better than any standard size. All you need is a soft measuring tape and five minutes. Ask a friend to help if you can.
Before you start
Wear light, fitted clothing (or the bra you will wear with the outfit). Stand straight and relaxed, and keep the tape snug but not tight.
1. Bust
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape straight across your back.
2. Waist
Measure around your natural waist – the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button.
3. Hips
Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.
4. Height
Stand barefoot against a wall and measure from the top of your head to the floor. This helps us set the kurta and pant length.
5. Shoulder (optional)
Measure from the edge of one shoulder to the other across the back.
6. Sleeve length (optional)
Measure from the shoulder edge to where you want the sleeve to end.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Pulling the tape too tight – leave room for one finger.
- Measuring over thick clothes.
- Guessing your height in shoes.
