Jaipur is one of India's biggest hubs for cotton and block printed kurtis. Buying directly from a manufacturer can improve your margins – if you plan well.
1. Decide your customer and price range
Know who you sell to: daily wear, office wear or festive. Fix the selling price first, then work backwards to your buying price.
2. Ask for the latest catalogue
A good manufacturer shares a fresh catalogue with fabric, sizes and wholesale price for each design.
3. Understand the minimum order
Most manufacturers have a minimum per design or per order. Ask whether sizes and colours can be mixed.
4. Order samples
Check fabric feel, print quality, stitching and fit before placing a bulk order.
5. Confirm everything in writing
Designs, quantity, sizes, price, delivery date and payment terms should be written in the quotation.
6. Payment and dispatch
Most Jaipur manufacturers work on advance payment. Ask for photos or videos of your goods before dispatch and a GST invoice.
7. Start small, reorder winners
Test 8–10 designs, see what sells, and reorder the best ones quickly.
